“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”- 1 John 4:9
The Journey
There is a journey we each must make
It begins when we take our first breath
We may not know the distance we will travel
We may not know the direction we will go
We may wander around for seasons
We may believe that we have arrived at times
Only to learn that we have simply stopped to rest
We are drawn to our destination as if compelled
Yet, holding on to the beauty of a moment
We also desire for time to stand still
We may see the “journey” as the “destination”
While viewing life through natural eyes
Until the arms of the unexpected reach out
Forcing us to delve deeply into our spirits
To acknowledge a Creator and His plan
We see others reach the destination
We cry for them and those they have left behind
We struggle for control and hold tightly to life
While somewhere in the depths of our souls
We hear a voice saying “Let go, I am here”
As spiritual eyes are awakened, we begin to see
That this to which we cling is only temporal
That each journey is unique with its own purpose
That peace is found in the act of relinquishment
That “faith” is to be the vehicle in which we travel
To find the true path back to our Creator
We each must take this journey
How we embrace it will determine the quality
The length of the journey is not ours to decide
What we do with the time we have is all we control
Let us take our journey ever mindful of the Creator
His Sovereignty, His Mercy, His Grace
